Video marketing isn't just a trend—it's the cornerstone of how brands captivate audiences and drive results. In 2025, the numbers speak louder than ever. Did you know that 96% of video marketers say video has helped increase brand awareness? Even more telling, 93% of marketers report a positive ROI from video campaigns.

This year, the question isn't whether video works—it's about how to make it work smarter. As global internet users consume over 82% of all internet traffic through video, staying ahead requires understanding the trends that resonate with today's audiences.

Everything from AI to live events is on the table, and video marketing is evolving fast. Feel your head spinning a bit? Don’t sweat too much. Here are 15 of the best video content marketing trends to abide by in 2025.

What are Video Marketing Trends in 2025?

1. AI-generated video content

What are video marketing trends in 2025? AI everything. AI-powered image generators like DALL-E and Midjourney have certainly made their mark, but now this tech is leaking into the video sector.

That said, it probably comes as no surprise that this is #1 in video content marketing trends, but it’s definitely not for everyone. Some people are entirely against AI, and some people lean on it heavily.

Coca-Cola is one of the more recent brands to jump on this AI video marketing trend, but it was received very poorly. This is largely due to the fact that AI is often seen as a budget-cutting tool, and, well, Coke is a $260B+ company.

Word of advice on this video marketing trend: proceed with caution!

2. Short form Video Content

First popularized by Vine circa 2012, and now heavily utilized by TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, short-form social videos have quickly become one of the biggest B2C and B2B video marketing trends to date. The reason is pretty simple: people’s attention spans are short. Really short. The faster they can absorb information and move on, the better.

Marketers have about 3 seconds to grab the user's attention, so the shorter the video, the better… So long as you’re able to say everything you need to say.

3. Omni-channel Video Marketing

Speaking of Instagram content it’s important to understand where your audience is at and come up with an omnichannel distribution plan to utilize multiple platforms at once.

This strategy can be a bit tricky, as marketing with videos requires slightly different strategies for each platform. Whichever platform you choose, it’s a good idea to repurpose content across all platforms. For example, let’s say you create a TikTok. Naturally, you can increase engagement by simply posting it on Instagram Reels, too.

But, surely, not every channel provides the same value, right? There are 3 simple steps you can do to optimize this video strategy:

  • Evaluate your target audience and test which platform(s) garner you the most engagement. This step is typically as simple as posting very similar content across multiple channels, and then measuring user interactions.
  • Create content with a consistent schedule over a designated period. This time frame is very different, depending on the brand. To get a really good feel, 1 month of consistency is a good starting point.
  • Ensure that the video is formatted to meet the requirements of the specific platform, and the preferences of the people using it.

4. User generated Video Content

User generated content isn’t necessarily a new trend, but it certainly is gaining a lot of traction in video marketing.

One of the most popular examples of user generated video content is the Go-Pro Awards. This is a perpetual challenge that is represented by seasons, each one awarding a well-deserved winner and sparking the almost immediate start of the next iteration.

Go-Pro uses the submitted videos in their video marketing campaigns, showcasing what their micro-cameras are capable of while simultaneously showing off some world-class content that can’t be emulated.

Although not every brand warrants a crazy video of a user skydiving over a waterfall, pretty much any brand can capitalize on UGC by simply inviting users to chat about their brand on camera. This kind of format is perfect for sharing on social media.

5. Employee-generated Video Content

Running off of the last point, employee-generated content can really help sell authenticity and builds trust with customers. It adds a personal, yet branded touch that produces a natural relatability.

The idea here is that potential customers get a behind-the-scenes view of your brand, through the eyes of your employee. These types of videos aren’t meant to be shared from the main company’s socials, but rather through the employees themselves.

6. Shoppable Videos

People love to watch videos, and people love to shop. Combining the two to boost user experience was the most natural next step in B2C and even B2B video marketing trends.

In the video above, you can see exactly how easy this experience can be. The user sees a live review of the shoes, complete with an unboxing and closeup look. Then, by simply clicking on the bubble in the bottom corner, the user is taken to the size selection page where they can proceed to checkout.

This sort of video marketing trend feeds the compulsive buyer in all of us and basically removes all obstacles that might prevent the on-spot conversion. It’s simple, eye-catching, and one of the best video marketing strategies for brands with physical products.

7. Low-budget videos

Not every video needs to win an Oscar. For brands just starting, purchasing a camera and video editing services and traveling to exotic places might not go over well in the stakeholder's meetings.

Instead, picking up a smartphone, getting really personal with it and filming in-office, and editing it directly on Instagram or TikTok is massive among current video content marketing trends. One of the most famous and recent examples of just how well this can work is the notorious Yeezy Super Bowl commercial with Kanye West.

Granted, ad space for the Super Bowl costs multiple millions, which is well out of reach for even some of the bigger brands. But, in order to counteract this massive cost, Mr. West produced this gem.

A simple video with very basic subtitles and a very quick (albeit hilarious) message. This is exactly what is currently resonating with the average consumer.

8. Personalized Videos

It would be great if every video we saw was directed specifically towards us, but that’s not exactly what we’re talking about here. Instead, we’re talking about videos that are created with specific interests in mind.

54% of users want videos with personalized content tailored to their interests. This is not a call to make a dedicated video for every single user, but rather to pay attention to where they are in their buying journey, and make a video based on that.

A quick example of this could be a step-by-step guide on how to set up their account, or a quick video that explains how they can utilize the top 3 features based on their subscription.

9. Live Streams and Virtual Events

In such a spread out yet digitally connected world, sometimes people feel left out on the stuff that’s happening in places too far away for them to travel. Live streaming and virtual events are a massive video marketing trend because not only does it close the gap physically, but emotionally, too.

Live videos are a great way for brands to interact and chat in real time in an unfiltered environment. This does come with its drawbacks, though. In addition to the pressure of a live event, you have to have the necessary occasion and space to host the event. It definitely takes some planning, but here are some examples of events that you can stream:

  • Newly anticipated product drops
  • Local community celebration days
  • Q&A’s based on social media questions
  • Giveaways announcements

10. Influencer Marketing

We’ve probably all had the “I’m just going to be an influencer” moment once or twice. For the influencers, it’s a great way to generate extra revenue, and for brands, it’s a great way to tap into already warmed-up and highly engaged audiences.

No matter what industry you’re in, there’s an influencer for you. B2B, B2C, and B2B2C, it doesn’t matter. Much like user-generated content, influencer marketing can build an extra layer of trust with users who are looking for opinions outside of product descriptions.

Believe it or not, you don’t have to hire Katy Perry to make this work. Some brands, like Factor, have become very popular simply by paying for shoutouts in YouTube videos, for example.

11. Soundless Videos

Did you know that about 85% of viewers watch videos on social media platforms without sound at all? So, if your videos only make sense with sound, you could be missing out on a gigantic audience.

Think about it. Most of these viewers are scrolling through their phones in a coffee shop, or silently lying in bed, waiting to fall asleep. The last thing they want is an ad blaring in their untuned ears.

How can you combat this? Add subtitles, big visual cues, or even just a nicely written caption. Make sure your video can sell your products or services without making a single peep.

12. Early Hooks

63% of all TikTok videos with the highest click-through rate (CTR) have their hook in the first 3 seconds. They get the message out there early, and pique interest within seconds, aiming to get the user to follow through and watch the video.

Likewise, it’s considered best practice to announce the point of the video as quickly as possible, and only then move on to the core of the video. You can try adding a pop-up caption, audibly announcing the contents, or ideally, both.

13. SEO Video Content

Search engines rank YouTube videos, just like they rank web pages. If your video is not optimized for the keywords users are looking for, then your video most likely won’t appear in SERPs at all.

The best way to pull this off is to use appropriate tags, integrate keywords into the video description, and create on-topic video content with thumbnails that pop. combined, these elements make it easier for search engines to discover your videos and promote them.

For certain topics, SEO-focused videos are like candy for users. Again, we all like videos because they’re easier to consume, so videos that appear in SERPs are much more likely to be clicked and consumed.

14. Product Videos

The overall sentiment towards video marketing is shifting drastically, with a lot of companies opting for it as their main channel for information distribution. For that reason, many brands are creating detailed product videos.

Instead of a help center article or blog post with product updates, one of the biggest B2B video marketing trends is explainer videos. Customers get a chance to see your product in action and hear you explain it in detail. It gives them a chance to really grasp the concept, features, and benefits, boosting their own confidence and driving them closer to conversion.

15. AR/VR Focused Videos

Virtual reality has made massive leaps in recent years, and we’re now seeing it being used in a few video marketing campaigns. To be honest, this trend is a long way off from being fully utilized, as the tech and required equipment are more of a novelty at the moment, but it is gaining a lot of traction.

Think about a customer being able to see and hold a product before purchase, without ever having to leave their house. Nike briefly experimented with this in the Metaverse recently, using in-game avatars to display their newest designs, some even exclusive to the Metaverse.

Conclusion

Video marketing is quickly taking over as the preferred marketing medium. For the average user, videos are just a lot more convenient, and for brands, they’re able to stretch their creative wings a bit more.

The key to all of these video marketing trends is to understand your audience, create very purposeful content, and try to include video. Even with the low-budget videos we mentioned, they have to be planned out, and a lot of effort still needs to go into their creation.
