1. Define the purpose of the ads.
This first section of the creative brief must contain all the necessary information to answer the most important question of all ๐๐ป ย What is the project about?
Whether it is to raise awareness about climate change, attract potential customers, or increase your website traffic, the scope of it must be correctly defined.

- What is your business about?
- What is it that you want to obtain through these ads?ย
- What is your target market? Who are your customers and what do they think about your brand?
- What feelings and associations do you want to evoke?

2. Where will you display the graphics?
Digital ads can appear in specifically designated areas of a website (Google Ads) or social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), with different shapes and sizes. The only limitations are the requirements of the "environment" you are running your campaign through, so make sure you let your designer know where exactly are you planning to display the requested banner ads, for a complete understanding of the task.ย

โ๐ป As for the accepted formats, each network has its own requirements. Still, most ad platforms accept JPEG, PNG, GIF, MOV, MP4 and many more. Not all networks accept HTML5, but all the major players do, including Google AdWords.

4. Content
All digital ads should include the following three basic components: ๐๐ป
- brand logo - used to build brand awareness.
- value proposition - a catchphrase that stands out (usually includes attractive offers, discounts, or promotions). E.g. Winter clearance sale 50% off.
- CTA (call to action) - text or button, it encourages users to click. E.g. Shop Now!
